Applewood to Host Bike Donation Drive November 19

Donated bicycles will be refurbished and resold to benefit Boys & Girls Club Initiatives

Applewood continuously strives to support the local community through community service endeavors that are meaningful to our residents and staff. Facilitated by resident and distance cyclist Spencer Halper, our bicycle donation event will raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club and help provide a larger inventory of affordable bikes for New Jerseyans.

Mr. Halper is a longtime supporter of the Bike Exchange, a Ewing-based resale shop where volunteers refurbish and resell bicycles. One hundred percent of resale proceeds are donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County. Since 2011, the Bike Exchange has raised more than $1.5 million.

“In 2021, we collected 110 bicycles in five hours,” Spencer explains. “This effort helped us raise thousands of dollars to support essential Boys & Girls Club educational and social programs which benefit our entire community.”
