Applewood CNA Receives National Caregiver Recognition Award During LeadingAge Annual Conference

(Chicago, IL) David Wooten, CNA, a dedicated 24-year veteran employee of Applewood, received national recognition for his outstanding career achievements at the 2023 LeadingAge Annual Conference in Chicago. LeadingAge, an organization representing over 5,000 nonprofit aging services providers dedicated to serving older adults nationwide, recognized David as one of the two award winners from New Jersey.

David’s dedication has propelled him through various roles at Applewood, starting as a Restorative Nursing Assistant and later becoming a Staffing Coordinator. Through persistent hard work, he is now the Healthcare Unit Coordinator. In this pivotal role, David oversees operational responsibilities, coordinates resident care, and manages day-to-day healthcare unit operations. His effective communication extends to residents, families, and staff.

Keith Grady, Executive Director at Applewood, acknowledged David’s unwavering dedication, stating, “David stands out as one of the most dedicated and respected clinicians we’ve ever had here at Applewood. We were delighted to nominate him and celebrate this national recognition of senior living quality of care.”

David consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty, readily assisting team members at any time, which makes him an indispensable asset to his colleagues. His generosity is evident in his willingness to take on extra work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, showcasing his commitment to supporting the team.

In 2022, David earned Applewood’s Employee Innovation Award for his creative contributions to community beautification, problem-solving, and service improvements. 

Since 2000, David has consistently exhibited workplace excellence, becoming a testament to the well-being of Applewood residents and fostering a culture of care, kindness, and respect. We congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.
