Dementia Memory Care Center To Open At Applewood In Freehold

Applewood, a non-profit, continuing care retirement community (CCRC), will open a new residential dementia and Alzheimer’s disease memory care center in August.

The specialized care center will serve 11 residents in private rooms with full baths. Services include 24/7 memory care support by licensed practice nurses (LPN), daily meals, snacks and housekeeping services.

Quality-of-life endeavors will be at the forefront of resident engagement. Specially-trained memory care professionals will help residents engage in daily living activities, manage their health, in partnership with CentraState Medical Center, and enjoy positive social engagement.

Applewood residents and CentraState Healthcare System philanthropists John and Audrey Statesir made a generous contribution toward the creation of the new center, in honor of John’s parents, Dorothy and William Statesir.

“The new memory center will offer peace-of-mind to residents and families seeking individualized around-the-clock care for their loved ones,” says John Statesir. “Above all, the center will offer a positive and uplifting environment where people’s dignity and safety are paramount.”

Applewood’s Thrive® program, centered on stimulating and nurturing mind, body and spirit, will be focal in resident programming, provided each resident with a customized care plan to optimize quality-of-life.

“A huge influx of Baby Boomers are living longer and some may eventually need residential memory care services,” says Keith Grady, executive director at Applewood.
