Medicare Awards Applewood Five-Star Quality Rating (2020)
Only five of 108 skilled nursing departments in central NJ earned a perfect score in each of the five Medicare categories
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Applewood its coveted Five-Star Quality Rating for all five skilled nursing categories during its most recent reporting for the third quarter of 2020.
The CMS five-star quality rating system provides consumers with an objective and reliable quality measurement guide to search for nursing homes that offer the quality of care they desire.
Under the leadership of Linda Rizzo, Director of Healthcare Services, and Shanna Lee, Director of Nursing, Applewood was rated based upon five critical skilled nursing quality measures:

Rizzo said by striving to meet the department’s goals, and the exemplary performance by the entire skilled nursing team, the community achieved Medicare’s highest quality recognition.
“Our employees’ accomplishment was particularly impressive during the historically-challenging circumstances of 2020,” says Linda Rizzo.
